On a regular old PC running UX (Firefox experimental). Nothing.

If there was anyone who should be having problems, I would think it would be my setup

It was some nasty redirect virus. It disabled Microsoft Security Essentials, and everytime I tried to go to a website to run a PC repair (malwarebytes, etc), I got redirected to the virus' site.

I've reformatted the computer (my laptop) and am trying to get everything back to normal.

That sucks.

Did you try System Restore before reformatting? Works pretty well on Windows 7 systems and has saved several computers I've dealt with that had persistent malware.
