My concern is that with BATFE's action on M855, which will surely apply to any surplus M855A1 as well, then the only military surplus to feed the AR will be XM193. I like and use XM193 but am worried about the military surplus supply if the military's of the world move to M855 / M855A1.
I guess if the military surplus of XM193 dries-up then private manufacturing would move in to fill the demand but I suspect the price would go up.

Most of the product labelled "XM-193" is not actually surplus...it's commercial ammo built to 193 specs.
I don't know that I've ever fired a single round of M855. I prefer the 55gr weight because it's faster and flatter at any range I'm going to be shooting. If I need to stretch farther I'll be running something heavier that 62 grains. I doubt that I'm alone in my thinking.
