The bureaucracy is absurd, but a lot of this is because banks are terrified to run afoul of FinCEN enforcing the Bank Secrecy Act. I don't know how the Biden Administration has been dealing with them, but the Obama Administration was utterly ruthless on financial institutions.
Maybe I should take all my funds out of Chase bank.
Why didn't he just call the bank and verify???
Go to a credit union. They're owed by the depositors - not corporations.
I guarantee they would have said to come in and bring authentication. Nothing would have changed.
I have accounts at Tinker credit union and closed the FAA credit union account when they refused to honor a check of mine when i bought a motorcycle froma guy for my son.
The sell had an ex wife at the FAA bank and they refused to cash my check to him.
I told them it is not their money to decide who gets it.
They would still not give him my money.
I closed it all out. I wanted cahs for all of it and they told me they do not have that much cash in the bank. I got IRATE on them.
