I find it disturbing that so many CCW supporters support the idea of harassing a person that doesn't fit their picture of "normal".

Sure, Georgie was scared. He should have been, but it was his own damn fault that Martin was kicking his ass.

Curious as to how many of you would've been proud to have Martin as a son? I mean he was just a misunderstood youth trying to beat the life out of a gay rapist.....right?

Pull your head out of the sand?
Your awful quick to jump to conclusions....
Martin's lawlessness and "thug"culture emulation makes him a "thug wannabee" in my opinion.
And I'm not the only one.
And no, I've never tried to murder someone.
Thanks for asking.

Your opinion is not fact brother. Even with a mass collective sharing the same opinion can not make your shared opinion fact. You also can't spend so many posts on the derogatory offense, then jump on the innocent defense the minutes someone calls you on it. Man up and own it. Cheers

Just an opinion, but if you had ever been in a fight, maybe you'd have a different opinion.

thug
/THəg/
Noun
1. A violent person, esp. a criminal.
2. A member of a religious organization of robbers and assassins in India, suppressed by the British in the 1830s

I'm going with #1.

OK...definition. Now, how do you apply that to TM and how did GZ know this prior to the altercation?

As far as me jumping to conclusions.....c'mon, let's be real. If you had meant sand you would have said sand. If you believe it own up to it. I've survived worse.

And I don't believe I ever asked if you killed someone. I asked if you had ever broken the law. Be honest.

Too bad Trayvon didn't have that fatherly influence in his life. But between you and me, I would have tainted his hide into shape, but I'd still let him be a kid. Clothes and music don't make the man... The parents do

I've already stated the answer to the first part. Lawlessness.
GZ had no way of knowing for sure that TM was doing anything illegal, nor did he ever state such on the phone to the PD. He did report "suspicious" behavior.
I'm pretty sure that TM wasn't the first black kid in a hoodie that GZ had ever seen, but there was something in TM's behavior or body language that caught GZ's eye.
From the statements presented, the first illegal act by TM that GZ was aware of, was the attack on GZ by TM.

As far as me jumping to conclusions.....c'mon, let's be real. If you had meant sand you would have said sand. If you believe it own up to it. I've survived worse.
Let's be real. You jumped to a conclusion. Textbook. I won't post the link to the definition.
Did I phrase it that way on purpose? You bet. But the definitions between the two terms are quite different, and if you bother to look at the two in context, you'll see that "sand" was the point I was conveying at the moment.

Now to expound on that: If you had punched me in the face, because you misinterpreted my intent, then you would have committed a crime. You would be responsible for whatever followed, as long as I reacted within the law.

And I don't believe I ever asked if you killed someone. I asked if you had ever broken the law. Be honest.

Sure. We've all made mistakes in the past. Fortunately, none of us reading this have made a fatal mistake.

Martin's death was a tragedy. But personal responsibility for his death lies with him alone. Those who want to lay blame at the feet of Zimmerman are the one's who won't let Martin rest in peace, because the truth is apparent from all of the credible evidence. From this evidence, GZ was a helpful, civic minded person, and TM was on a very wrong path.
Those who refuse the truth either reject the concept of personal responsibility or are blinded by agenda.

I've said before that I think you're an intelligent person, jmike. That's more than I can say for some others in this thread.
I hope I haven't offended you.
:)
