Keep hearing the above in an auto insurance comercial on TV. Makes me wonder what is it they are really saying. Is anybody going to buy more insurance than they need. Is it a sneaky way to target those that might buy insurance for just long enough to renew a car tag. Makes no sense to me, maybe I'm just dumb and need someone to explain it like you are talking to a 3rd grader.

Most insurances agents sell you more then you need, especially for home owners insurance. But the company you are speaking of(the ad) does the same thing. You have to dig and look for a agent who will sell you what you want. Always remember insurance agents work off of commission, so they want to sell you all they can.

I've had a local State Farm agent since I was 16 and I always tailored mine with them based on what I could afford (coverage and deductible). And if you finance, the lien holder is going to make sure you get enough coverage. So those ads make no sense to me as I thought that's what you should do anywhere. I've been doing that with SF for many decades.

USAA FTW, if you qualify. You can adjust the coverage that YOU want online, easy peasy.

But on the other hand, I kinda dig that goofy Emu, or whatever he is, wearing a yellow shirt and sunglasses stoopidly pecking at his own reflection in the window. Great marketing, IMO.

Hit up independent insurance agents that can shop around and tailor coverage for you from several different companies instead of expecting the best coverage/cost from someone handcuffed to just the one company.

Identical coverage from a top rated smaller, non-national advertising company was about anywhere from half to a quarter of the home ins quotes I got from State Farm, All State, Farmers, etc... AAA came the closest at roughly double. Don't be a sucker, especially if you've been with the same company for a long time. It's a PITA to shop around and swap companies, but it's often eye opening to realize just how much they'll take you for.

You either use an app or a device that plugs into your car and tracks your driving. That’s what they mean by only paying for what you need.
If you’re a ninny that only drives 3 miles a day you wouldn’t need as much insurance as a road warrior that drives 50 miles a day. It’s what the world is coming to.

I'd never qualify. I have a lead foot, and they track your speed.
