Ive got a question on accuracy. Just bought my first 10/22 (new deluxe stainless) couple months ago. It now has a KIDD 2-stage trigger, the action is NOT bedded, the barrel is floated to about 1.5" from action. At 50 yds. it shoots CCI Stingers, CCI SGB, and a couple others in the 1"to 1.50" range. A lot of ammo (CCI Select, Match type, etc) that generally shoots far from a couple bolt guns goes 2.0 or worse in the 10/22. So far the ammo that shoots OK are ones that measure long like stingers, etc. From what ive read the stock 10/22 chamber is cut to .775. The ammo that shoots OK also measure the closest to the .775. My question is can the breech face on 10/22 barrel be taken down (without cutting new chamber) say .010 .015 .020 or so and be able to shoot some match type ammo more accurate without having any problems.

I can hit a tin can consistently at 100 yards with a Browning Buckmark .22 pistol. I can do the same with my Ruger 10/22's. Sorry, I know you're looking for calipers, but that's all I have.

My 10-22 is stock except for a scope. Shooting Federal bulk pack ammo it will shoot about a 1/4-1/2 inch at 50yds. This is off a rest and with a 3x9x32 scope. With the stock sights I wouldnt expect that kind of accuracy. I have done nothing to this rifle except clean and shoot it.YMMV.These seem to be ready to go out of the box though.

Same setup as mine, I get about 1'' groups at 50 yards, no rest, just free shooting.
