I'm bummed. It was 2 weeks ago last year when they were up and picked.

Didn't find hardly any last year, and what we found were about two weeks earlier than usual for us. Turkey opener is usually just the beginning up here.

Just got out of the river bottom, the boys found right at 180, which worked out to be a little over 3.5 lbs. Some are showing their age and are starting to get dry but there were lots of new ones that had recently came up. Going to check another spot tomorrow.

I walked the woods at Kaw lake for 3 hours today where I've always found them in the past. Nada.

Diggerman, back in the early 70's, my best spots were in the breaks of the Canadian, especially where the train crossed the river close to where Thunder Valley is now.

That's about where we look for them, got family land both upstream and downstream from the railroad bridge.
