There was an arfcom guy that taught his son to make and sell them. His were basically a 5/16 or so rod faced and drilled on the end to lightly hold the pin. The kicker is the hole was offset over to one side so that you could get over where you need it to be against the receiver
Painters tape around the mag catch and some vice grips do a great job of slowly pushing in evenly. Lowers are so easy to build. I would do them at my office desk in a few minutes. Painters tape, vice grips, tap hammer and little else. Or if you are doing the buttstock, a center punch and a nut wrench, a vice and mag block is handy, but the guts are simple
