Been a member as long as I can remember, and at one time got the calls, etc.
Before the internet, I looked in the magazine and got the customer service phone number, and asked to be put on the no-call, no-mail list.
Then I just got annual renewal notices.
Now I renew through our local gun club. We are an NRA Gold Star range where all have to be a member and we are recruiters. Members get $5 off renewing through the club, and the club gets a little money back for each renewal.

I never get phone calls, get maybe one email every two weeks and something via snail mail maybe once a month if that as far as soliciting more money. I do get their newsletter and all the magazines via their app on my tablet so I can read some stuff. Seriously thought about getting an NRA license plate just to irritate my father but figured while driving in KommieFornia I would end up being a target for the cops with a plate like that. Plus the handicap plate it like 1.50 per year so why not, I hate the crap hanging from the mirror and the wife often forgets to put it up when we park. Now I don't need to worry.

Lifetime member.
I joined during one of their lifetime membership deals. $400 lump payment if my memory is right.

At first there were a lot of phone call and tons of emails.
I think the emails (NRA website?) has a link to adjust how often they contact you.
Now, I get a few emails (by choice) and it's no big deal.

I'd recommend joining - gun owners need some lobbying power in the political circles.

Life benefactor member here. Disappointment with the NRA has been discussed in this forum. I don't get phone calls and don't get much mail but I know some of you do. But being a member makes you a number and being a number gets you counted. In the lobbying business that gives the NRA more muscle.

it doesn't matter what Gun lobbying group you're a member of, if we don't vote and organize, nothing stands between the democrats and the erosion of our rights.

i may not always agree with these organizations but i damn sure thank god we have them.

If you are over age 65 or a disabled veteran, you can get a lifetime NRA membership for $375.00 by calling them-not by applying on their website.
Q: Who is eligible for Distinguished Membership in the NRA?
A: Distinguished Membership is available to members aged 65 or older or to Disabled Veterans.
