I have been proudly exercising my newly acquired right to open carry, and as such, I am VERY careful to extensively examine the front door, as well as any surrounding areas for signs that suggest that firearms are not allowed.
So, last Tuesday I was at a new store for me... I was picking up some whole wheat pie crusts, and organic items for my mother for thanksgiving. I won't say the name of the establishment, but they sell "whole foods".
I had been there for no less than 20 minutes, trying to find things that were (in my opinion) illogically located, and had interacted with 1 particular worker 4-5 times. I am scooping some oats (not a metaphor) and this is my final item to collect, when this same worker approaches me and informs me that "actually, we do not allow firearms here, even though Oklahoma..." I didn't cut him off, he trailed off. I kindly suggested that I had checked carefully and that there was nothing posted. "Ya, we are working on getting that posted, if you want, I can wait with your stuff, while you run to your car." I told him that this was my last item, and then I was going to check out. He said that that would be fine.

I feel like I handled the situation properly, and after some extensive reading of the law, there is something ambiguous about the "right of property owners"... Thoughts?

Not really ambiguous. They can ask you to leave and you must comply.

This. Nothing ambiguous at all.

The only thing that could be reasonably argued as ambiguous is whether or not a sign is considered your notification, but then the rebuttal is whether every reasonable entrance to the building is posted and if the posted signs are in a conspicuous location.

I'm just wondering what's the point of flaunting your firearm? To show off? What's wrong with concealed carry? I'm all about gun rights but I'm not seeing the point of walking around with it displayed for all to see? It's a lawfully given right, but I don't really see the point?

Funny, they've never asked me to leave for concealed carrying?

That said, Whole Paycheck sucks and is overpriced. Try Petty's at 21st and Utica - they don't carry junk brands and don't take food stamps, it's a great shopping experience.
