I said earlier that Bigfoot does not exist. Let me rephrase my statement, I have never seen any evidence of Bigfoot. Who really knows what is really out there?

a few of us were camping on some public land. with me were a marine and two police officers, a younger one, and another who has served in the army.

the marine was riding a 4 wheeler in some meadows around our campsite. he had a walther .22 and a .270 remington. we heard the .22 fire off a few times, and the 4 wheeler accelerating.
he came back to our campsite pretty freaked out. said there was a black bear walking upright in the meadow. he described a tall (over 6.5 ft) hairy, broad shouldered creature walking on two legs, not on all fours, and standing up to take a few steps or reach something in a tree. we saw no sign of black bear... later, after dark, we walked to that meadow and smelled something like a wet dog covered in snake musk. maybe it was a bear, but...

little later, back at our campsite, we heard muffled, heavy, bipedal footsteps in the treeline on the opposite side of the clearing we were in. two of us stayed at camp, and the other two began going toward the sounds. they followed the footsteps about 50 yards into the woods. we saw their flashlight coming towards us, at a pretty brisk pace. when they were about 20 feet from the tree line they were in a dead run. when they got back to the campsite, they said the footsteps suddenly quit, and they felt surrounded. like they were being lured to a trap.

later still, we all went out, pretty deep into the woods. we found a huge hollow tree, and decided it would be a good idea to hit it with a log. three or four hits, then wait.
a couple rounds of that, and we heard a howl in the distance. couple rounds later, and the howl was closer, and seemed a little more angry. a few howls later, we could hear the brush moving, and decided a gunfight with an unknown in the middle of the woods might be a bad idea.

until that night, the young cop made jokes about a couple of us believers, but he wasn't joking when he ran out of the woods with his .16 gauge in hand.

when i've experienced things, it has always been more than one of whatever it is. throwing rocks and sticks from different directions, howling, breaking limbs, etc.

last time i went, about a year ago, i had a rock land in my lap. hammock camping, with a poncho for a cover, my buddy was passed out in his hammock, and a stone, about the size of a walnut landed on my stomach. we got up, and shone lights around. saw a couple flashes of color, about like dead juniper, moving pretty quick. kill the lights, and a rock about the size of a baseball spun past my head and hit one of the 4 wheelers. took a chunk off the finish, and landed on the floorboard. we had two .45's, and felt outgunned by something throwing rocks.

MOMO = the name for "Bigfoot" in Missouri. I remember as a kid in Webster county, MO., my uncle used to tell us hair-raising stories of bigfoot; how he would carry off small children, scream in the middle of the night...and drove a Kia Sportage.

I'm confused... was it the uncle that drove the Kia or MOMO?
