I think a large part of their clientele is probably not worried about customer service at dongs. Another place that used to get universally trashed was Tulsa Firearms. I am amazed that place is still in business but I haven't seen any posts about that place in a long time.

Truth is their isn't a single gun store in town I have been to that I think has great service and great prices. You may find one but rarely both consistently.
Reminds me of the issue Tulsa area shooters have with shooting ranges open to the public. Next to none worth going to.

I’ve told the story before, but Dongs was trying to sell an FN SCAR rifle for $20,000.00 during the Sandy Hook stuff. It’s not just the raging A-holes that make Dongs a terrible place to shop.

And Tulsa firearms is so awful they’re all but dead to the shooting community. That’s why they’re never talked about.

Back in the 80's, you could only go into Dongs if Mr. Dong decided to be open. I only found it open once, Mr. Dong was very friendly an helpful fella. The tall fella that married into the family isn't all that cordial however I go there cause more than likely they have it when no one else does.

Considering the types of personalities they meet day in and day out probably would effect my demeanor too somewhat.

Jus my 2 cents!!

So far I've not been to Dong's, but I have been to Sportsworld, Tulsa Firearms, Bear Beam, SCI, Fat boy Tactical and Crusader Tactical. So far, at least for the firearms I was looking at, Academy has beat them on price with the exception of when I bought my first two pistols (EC9s and Walther P22QD) on sale at SCI. Ammo used to be a buck cheaper at Wal-Mart than Academy, but alas that is gone. BPS has by far the most expensive pricing, but has had pretty friendly staff. Sportsworld was indifferent. Tulsa Firearms, well they were meh on both customer service and price. I did pick up some 9mm snap caps from there, but that was it. All other places have been pretty cool to work with. Done quite a bit of business with Crusader, good duo of guys there. One guy has a off putting demeanor about him, but is friendly once you get to talking with him.

Makes me want to venture to Dongs and see what happens.
