You keep living in the past. It really doesn't matter who OU beat the last 3-4 years when people are predicting what the future will look like in 2-4 years with OU in the SEC. Lots of things change from year to year. Look at how good OU was two and three years ago. They are a shell of themselves with a stacked team they had. Today, no where near the powerhouse they were. Good, yes, but not like they were. Look at LSU, Ole Miss, Cincinnati and a whole hose of other college programs that were mediocre a couple years ago and are now on the rise. Also looks at the schools that were killing it each season and now struggle to win in 2021. I get that OU history is pretty fantastic but OU need to make sure they don't have the mentality of the USC from the early 2000s when Pete Carroll was the coach and quickly drop off the face of the college football earth. A big part of this will be who they hire as their new HC.

Shell of who we were lol? We went 10-2 with an obviously distracted HC. Geez... some of you pokes REALLY stretch it thin to knock OU.

Kind of ironic.
OU fans & school seems upset that coach quit the team for more money & advance career in a surprise announcement.
But OU quit the big 12 for the SEC for more money in a surprise announcement & lots of folks were ok with that…:)

A simplistic view on two different scenarios. OU (and Texas) have consistently complained to the commissioner with regards to doing something with the conference to make it more relevant. They also wouldn't lift a finger to help with the 11am games and that didn't help with recruiting.

On the other hand you had Lincoln Riley whom had made no concessions, and reached and agreement with USC behind OU's back, all the while paying lip service. See rant concerning TCU a while back.

Don’t think he wanted any part of the SEC. Regardless, hearing OU fans call him traitor & say are in a state of shock rings kinda hollow after the OU decision to leave the big 12.

Difference was, OU made it's case known, and the Big 12 did nothing. Some of you need to understand the bigger picture, and that the NIL changed everything. If you want the best recruits, you're gonna have to have exposure. Nearly all of your home games @ 11am doesn't bode well.

Did they make their case known before or after they made their decision? If what you say is true, then there was nothing the Big 12 could say that would change the outcome, right? :anyone:

Before. Well before. The Big 12 sat @ 10 teams for how long? Some of the names that they went scrambling for after the OU & Texas departure were mentioned SEVERAL times. Now, I'm speaking for OU only, Texas IMO has a way different culture, but Castiglione has and was VERY vocal leading up to the departure.

Edit: Keep in mind..... Riley has also said that he JUST started talking to USC on early Sunday morning LOL. Cmon man, nobody believes that. I never would've guessed he was this bad of a liar.
