More than likely tractors will be useless after an emp event, I'd stick with good old fashioned distributor ignition systems, no coils, no electronic ignition...If I had the money to buy something like that, we would have several nice tractors with air conditioned cabs and all the attachments.

As long as you’re buying a diesel built before 2013 or so, you’re ok, and you’d be hard pressed to buy a gasser built in the last forty or so years. Mechanical fuel injection doesn’t care about your EMPs.
I’d worry more about getting fuel for them. Fuel doesn’t have an infinite shelf life, and what are the chances that any wells or refineries are going to remain in production when the SHTF?

I can't see where gold or silver will be of any value in a total collapse. Recession, depression, runaway inflation; gold / silver can be a hedge against goobermint stupidity devaluing money. A total collapse; food, water, meds will be important. I'm not trading water for any amount of gold. Defense / safety will be critical. Barter goods, to me, are knives, fishing gear, booze. Only after some semblance of civilization must return.
6 months after a total collapse, most of us won't be worried about it.

See I'm 3 steps ahead of everyone. While you all are stacking ammo and gold I put some video recorders and tapes in a Faraday box so when the EMP hits I can restart the porn industry...I should probably get some girls in my survival group or we might be limited on the type of content we can make
