Well, all of the above is according to news sites from around the world, not "conspiracy theorists".
That’s what the conspiracy theorists said, too.

It’s not the events, it’s the interpretation of the events. Some say the Saudis are trying to unseat the dollar as the reserve currency, but there’s a simpler explanation—they’re agreeing to accept the yuan because they need a military protector to offset the Iranians now that the US is trying to GTFO of the Middle East. It’s not like the Japanese or Brits are interested in sending their navies to keep the Persian Gulf or Red Sea open, so they don’t have a lot of choices once the US Navy bails out for good.

Sound like a conspiracy theory.

And I never said the Saudis were trying to unseat the dollar; they are looking for a way to hitch their wagon to a potential currency that isn't obviously in steep decline. Better to get contingency plans rolling now. And the U.S. isn't leaving the Middle East, not with our "greatest ally" constantly clamoring for help.
