Trust me, We'ii be OK. just as long as the printing presses don't break. Oh, and also as long as we don't run out of paper and ink.

Yeah - that'll work.

Look up hyperinflation.

I spent a short time in Argentina in 1979 when that nation was in the throes of hyperinflation. It wasn't pretty.

Look up post WWI Germany re: hyperinflation.

I fear though that the morons in Washington most of whom can't even spell economics let alone grasp the concepts with in it or for that matter even spell it don't already believe that all they have to do to solve the US debt problem is to just print more money.

Yes, Virginia, We do live in interesting times. Best get prepared for more to come.

Has anyone ever seen figures on how much of our current debt/deficit can be attributed to our military actions in Iraq and Afghanistan over the past six or eight years? Not a political or rhetorical question - I would just like to know.

Congress appropriates the money, not the President.
Unless we figure out how to vote in to power statesmen rather than corrupt politicians in both the Legislative and Executive branches of government we are all screwed. Patronage worked pretty well for a long time, but now the costs are too high.
