Well, I got the job.
My 28 years seniority got me midnight shift this rotation.
I'm not through my probationary period yet.
Not sure how great this will be but I can always bid back

Is the overtime / 80 hr weeks going away anytime, soon?

The raise / desk job can easily be a 80+ hour weeks and NO overtime pay. Seen it happen many times. End up working more and making less
