My wife's work BF and her husband talked me into it. I had a good amount of fun for hating airplanes, airports and people in general.
We stayed at the New York New York. Room and bed sucked a little, but we didn't spend that much time in it. Casino and Coffee shop right off the elevators made it nice.
It was hot. Like 115 hot most of the day. Did the public transportation thing the first two days. Busses were nice, people even nicer. I got sick of the 30 plus stops each way, so I priced matched Uber and Lyft and just bit my lip and dealt with it. We hit Fremont Street to scratch that off the bucket list. Mental Health blows as bad in Vegas as it does in Oklahoma. Fregging weed is everywhere.
Last thing on the bucket list was Gold and Silver Pawn. No one other than the doorman I noticed from the show was there, but it was cool. We got there early and only waited a few minutes to get in. They had fans and misters outside to help cool people off. Staff there was pretty cool.
Half the shop was just for show merch, but I did get me an Old Man Coin. Jeremy got one and a cool West Point coin for his kid. We went over to Chum's Candy Shop and the Coffee place in that little Rick Shack. Good Coffee in the shade and people watched for an hour.
Ate at the Revolving Sushi Restaurant too. That was a trip. Good food, but didn't hold a candle to Sumo in Edmond.
Gambled a bit. I think I started with 250 cash on the first day and walked away with about 300 bucks after the Old Man Coin, Dinner and gifting it back. I put 20 in a machine and won a little over 500 on the 3rd day. Cashed out and walked. Wife's photo of my winnings. Excuse the peanut butter lense.
I will go back, but maybe when it's not so bloody hot. I was surprised how nice everyone was. Staff, tourists and locals. Only tool was one cocktail waitress that didn't appreciate the 3 dollar tip when she brought me a beer. All the other one's were cool with a 3 dollar tip. I also found the biggest freggin cop I've ever seen. Dude was every bit 6'5" and built like a tank. We BS'd for a few and gave him my challenge coin. He was really sorry he didn't have one for me, but said he owed me lol.
Cheers!
