Ducks!!!!

3 short of a 3 man limit this morn, greenheads, gads and teal. Huge numbers of geese but none cooperated.

Well we got 2 mallards, 3 hens, and one shoveler hen yesterday which was pretty windy, but that's what we managed at the farm pond.
Today we got one mallard on a very still evening and a glass pond. While we were getting our decoys out and bagged we had 200 plus ducks and 8 geese circle and fly in. Some even landed in the pond and flew off when they noticed us. We were in awe of the whole show. It was really cool seeing so many ducks and several geese coming to our pond. Too bad it was right at the time shooting hours were over. The sounds of the flocks were amazing and the ducks calling to each other was just as amazing. It was a great night tonight even though we almost got skunked.

my son was hunting our deer lease north of crescent and saw a lot of geese this morning. we have had somebody deer hunting 3-4 times a week and this is the first real movement this year

Man I sure hope so! I know the geese were down last weekend.

Sounds like you might want to lay off the pond in the evening if the ducks are coming into it at night. I have found it helps to keep the ducks around longer if you only hunt them in the morning, just an idea.
