Happens at the VA here and there. Its always fun getting looks after mentioning something about hunting to my mental health therapist, and they ask "oh, do you have guns?", to which I reply "no". I get a weird look, they ask how I'm supposed to hunt without guns, I tell them I kill things with my bare hands. Had one guy get real upset about that, claimed I lied to him about hunting pigs and coyotes with my bare hands, and we ended up getting into a yelling match. Most of the others just get weird about it.

You must have gotten someone new to the OKC VA Medical Center. I've been going there for years and have seen quite a few medical personnel over that time and not one has ever asked me about firearm ownership. I'm pretty sure that most personnel working at the OKCVAMC just take it as a given that veterans own guns.
The Mental Health Department is the exception though because it's just part of their thinking that everyone is always on that fine edge . . . 😂

I've been asked about guns at my family doc's office in Idaho. But the question was, "What do you carry? I'm looking for something different." He carried at work all the time.

Aside from that I don't think I've ever been asked that at any doc's office. No one has ever asked at OKC VA hospital. I'd probably just tell them it was none of their business if I have a gun or guns.

I've decided if anyone ever asks me what are my pronouns I'll tell them something like "single action/striker fired."

Took my wife to a specialist this week. They handed us an ipad to fill-out 22 pages of health questions. First question: do you have firearm in your home?
What the . . . ! Started doing research into this intrusion of our personal life and many states have passed legislation against this practice.. I am going to contact my state rep and senator to enact legislation against this. Anybody out there experience this problem?
