My son and I just did our annual fall break camping/fishing trip. Had a great time! Saw bald eagles, shooting stars, full moon light on the lake… also helped a nice mess of channel cats with their weight loss program!

What’s biting at Keystone Lake and where?
I’m not sure bruh… if you find anything out, let me know on the real

As far as I’m aware, generally, Keystone Lake sucks. Unless you’re out with high-quality sonar and actively searching for fish it will most likely suck

That’s my experience anyway

Hit the lake yesterday trying to hunt down a crappie....they were as elusive as deer for me this year. Just drum made it into the boat. Other folks were landing big blues out in the middle of the lake though!
Drum eats good. Had some tonight we caught in Minnesota this summer.
Years ago wife and I were on Grand lake throwing rattle traps into the rocks, only catching drum. Told her they were good to eat, but she turned up her nose saying they look like a carp.
When we brought them back to camp this summer already cleaned, called them sheepshead. Everybody enjoyed the filets. Good white flaky meat.

Yup, we’ve eaten a few when the fishing was tough lol. The smaller ones really do fillet up and fry alright

We had "2" CARP dinners this fall, having 410 attendee's in October and 380 in November.

With both dinners combined, we went through just over 600 fillets and just over 300 carp patties. Lot's of corn on the cob, boiled and fried potatoes, and hush puppies and salad plus desserts rounded out the menu.

All of these guys and gals were absolutely great, and not the first person was heard complaining about eating carp.

We watched 2 different videos on carp fishing, one was fly fishing and the other was on using pack baits.

So needless to say, we have a lot more people that want to go carp fishing with us next year, and we're all looking forward to it. 😁
