Garmin Live Scope - Let’s talk

Well I am on my way to getting into the Live Scope arena. I have talked to a bunch of folks that are using the Live Scope and most everyone agree that Garmin is the best brand for this platform.
I ordered a Garmin Echomap UHD2 73sv to replace my little Hummingbird Helix 5 on the console. This way I can link this one and the one I get for the Live Scope together. It should be here Wednesday. I will get it installed this weekend.

Now as far as the Live Scope goes, I have decided to either go with the Echomap 93sv or the Echomap Ultra 106. I was at Bass Pro last weekend and priced the Live Scope LVS34 and Black Box and the Ultra 106. Separately they would run right at $3000. The salesman showed me a Black Friday sales brochure that will have these two bundled together for $2400. I think it is worth the wait to save $600.

Since I will be using it primarily in my Ranger Tritoon, I think I am going to install it in a Summit Shuttle. This will make it very portable to use anywhere on the boat. And I can take it on my friends boat with not hassle.

I can’t wait to fine a school like that. I ran around the north end of Grand Friday and graphed a bunch of brush piles and lay downs with my clear view. Can’t wait to put the Live Scope on them.

One thing that very seldom gets brought up with live scope is boat control. With a 7-8mph+ wind my spot lock works great anything lower it just goes stupid and hunts so you are always fighting to stay on the fish. I have talked with several people and they see the same with theirs. I have fished in 20mph wind and it works great, just eats the battery in a hurry.

I doubled my trolling motor batteries.
Nothing worse than zero winds for the anchor feature on the Motor Guide XI-5. It puts you everywhere.
Still new to it needing much more lake time to be proficient. Looks like you've got it.

Got my Summit Shuttle, Docking platform, accessory light and battery delivered this morning. Was so easy to install and hook up everything.
Now, I’m just waiting for Black Friday to get here to purchase the graph and the LVS 34 Live Scope. It can’t get here fast enough.

You’re going to love it when you do, but the learning curve is steep. I spent days on YouTube, even relying on it with the phone when on the water.
I finally had to leave the fishing poles at home and just play with the controls.

I hear you Dennis,
I have watched a bunch of YouTube videos as well. It seems like hundreds. LOL!!!! I have made lots of notes of different settings, and notes of problems people have had with their Live Scope with possible solutions. I am trying to be as prepared as possible but I know it will still be a steep learning curve. But I can’t wait to get to it.
