Sorry to say this, but you'll likely get the same thing here in OK if we ever get open carry passed. No police officer will ever know every applicable law on the books. Unless the law specifically directs every LE agency to inform every officer of the legality of open carry, some officer somewhere is going to think it's illegal and prone out a citizen carrying openly.

It sounded like the officer in the audio tape was a sergeant. If a patrol sergeant doesn't know the law, then it's obvious that it isn't something they're familiar with in that jurisdiction. The citizen knew this, which is why he was recording. He knew he was likely to find an officer who wouldn't know that it was legal there. His refusal to obey the officers commands was just stupid and dangerous. For all he knows, he matches the description of an armed robbery suspect that just went out over the radio. Always follow officer commands. If it turns out later that your rights were violated, then you can sue. That's a lot better than your surviving family members suing on your behalf, don't you think?
