I don’t necessarily support that either but there’s a big difference between a store being open or not and legalizing another intoxicantYes, and "blue laws" were common not too long ago.
I actually heard a guy in Sunday School a few years ago lament the "good old days" when stores weren't open on Sunday, by law.
"So you support theocracy?" I asked. He thought I was crazy too.

Is it wrong to want people to do the right thing?Ok Fidel, whatever you say
How about legislating on an unchangeable set of principles that is set in stone. It's a matter of degree.
Either you're legislating based on religion, or you're not.
The will of the people is often wrong.
It's sort of like 'prohibition'. Booze was Federally illegal, but was still available to anyone that could afford it. Even though MJ is Federally illegal, millions are partaking, so might as well legalize it and gain a little income from a reasonable tax on it. The key is to make the 'officially sanctioned' MJ less expensive than the 'black market' MJ.I don’t necessarily support that either but there’s a big difference between a store being open or not and legalizing another intoxicant
you're reaching and lighting the gaslightIs it wrong to want people to do the right thing?
The reason prohibition failed was because they made something that was already legal, illegal and that God Himself doesn’t even prohibit alcohol consumption (for anyone other than pastors). Just the abuse of it.It's sort of like 'prohibition'. Booze was Federally illegal, but was still available to anyone that could afford it.
