Yes, and "blue laws" were common not too long ago.

I actually heard a guy in Sunday School a few years ago lament the "good old days" when stores weren't open on Sunday, by law.

It's sort of like 'prohibition'. Booze was Federally illegal, but was still available to anyone that could afford it. Even though MJ is Federally illegal, millions are partaking, so might as well legalize it and gain a little income from a reasonable tax on it. The key is to make the 'officially sanctioned' MJ less expensive than the 'black market' MJ.

The reason prohibition failed was because they made something that was already legal, illegal and that God Himself doesn’t even prohibit alcohol consumption (for anyone other than pastors). Just the abuse of it.

What I’ve been saying from the beginning is to keep what is illegal, illegal. If everyone wanted to legalize drunk driving would you support it?
