I didn't say it was a good thing per se. I'm saying if you're looking to "right" the "wrong" things in the world..... you're misguided and to your own words..... ignorant of the facts. You boys seem to cherry pick your conviction, because y'all sure don't come a running if there's an alcohol thread.
The fact is is that it is wrong. The legalization of recreational MJ is wrong and the purpose of legalizing medical MJ was to start us down the slippery slope to decriminalizing hard drugs. Any real or imagined benefits are not worth the cost. Future generations will be the ones who suffer.

I’m saying what is illegal should be kept illegal.

I’m on the record as saying getting drunk is wrong.

If this passes it will not end at recreational MJ.

I’m against any thing that contributes to the moral degradation of our society.

Ok, if you say so. lol
Tax weed just like alcohol. I'm all about it and use the tax appropriately. The issue isn't about taxes, it's about how the taxes are used.
Are you gonna go out and repair roads on your dime? How about new sewer systems? How about paying for new books or teachers or schools? What about water distribution? How about the sh*tty little bridge that just fell in the 20' creek that last time it flooded? Taxes pay for that sh*t because citizens won't pull it out of their own pockets and that is fact.

No tax on medications and drugs with actual health benefits. Don't let your sanctimony outthink some sense.
I never said taxes weren't necessary, so you can skip all that "Libertarians I watch on Facebook" stuff.

Taxing alcohol and weed should be just like taxing a baseball glove or a cigar or a car, or anything else.

Why do a majority of people that "need" insulin, need insulin? How did they get diabetes? Granted you have a exponentially smaller demographic of type 1..... but again.....how did those people get type II? Did they NEED that food they were stuffing their face with? That's some fun logic you have there that we can explore.
It's not just the chow they're stuffing in their gut, it's the kind of chow they're stuffing in their gut. A diet of Kraft mac n cheese, HoHos, 1/2 gallon of 2%, frozen pizza and hotdogs will take you there.
I know MF that wouldn't touch a veggie and the closest thing to fruit they eat would be grape jelly.

"taxes are theft" you said that homie. Taxes are in the Constitution but our representation doesn't necessarily follow that, you can't get your cut if you're doing right.

Don't assume the only Libertarian info I consume is on fakebook...I read all their blogs and articles, and on. Just type Libertarian pundit, or journalist, etc. You'll find all kinds of craziness. Much of it I agree with but the anarchy I don't.

I’m sure you’ve guessed what I’m gonna say. Whether you like it or not this country was founded on Christian principles and morality.

Yes, and "blue laws" were common not too long ago.

I actually heard a guy in Sunday School a few years ago lament the "good old days" when stores weren't open on Sunday, by law.

"So you support theocracy?" I asked. He thought I was crazy too.

Taxes ARE theft.

Necessary evil, IMHO. Davy Crockett had the most insight on Congress and our tax money, you should see what he learned.

And I threw "cigar" in there just to be clear - I think all things should be taxed at the same rate.
