Wow! Stay safe people! Maybe next time you should try scaring them. Try yelling back into your house like "Dog! STAY OFF THE COUCH OR IMMA WHOOP YOU!" then take off one of your shoes and throw it really hard into the living room.
I checked these guys a week or two ago. Same story. They are selling vaccums, just a high pressure sales pitch. Dosnt mean their not casing houses also though. Call the sheriff's office if you see them again or anytime your unsure of of a someone near your home.

I live out in surrey too and they just came by my house too. Said they were with the kirby vacuum and wanted to clean my carpets for free. Told him to go away and he did. I barely opened the door so he couldn't see in. Plus my big dog was behind me raising hell. He didn't seem to want to stand too close.
That's what I was thinking. It sounds like Kirby salesmen.

But I always answer the door visably armed (unless it looks like a situation not to open it at all) and they usually do not get too pushy.
Actually, now that I think about it, Im going to put some fake blood on a huge knife next time. That should work!
