In my previous life, my old boss was always conflicted about my various collections of IT and AV parts and pieces. He desperately wanted me to thin the collection, the problem was that people were always asking us to do things with facilities and systems that were never designed to do those things, and I was always able to delve into that collection to piece together just the right adapters and equipment to make it do what they wanted.

I kind of wonder what happened to that apparently random assemblage of stuff after I retired, but then I remember
