We were without phone service for 10 days during our ice storm several years back....I rather enjoyed it.
I guess I would be one of the last to know. Rarely does anyone call me, and I rarely call anyone. Once I did find out, I would start start growing a farm in my back yard and build a watch tower, I have always wanted one.

Even though we were without power for a week and it was cold, I too, rather enjoyed having my evenings to myself and my hubby ... nothing to distract us ... we actually talked to each other like we did when we first met. I was really nice ...
It was also kinda interesting going to bed when it got dark instead of waiting til midnight like we usually do ...
