I just had a economic epiphany about the Classifieds

Sellers asking for trades only are actually doing an auction.

Post an advertisement with a "cash value"
Accept "bids" in the form of trades
Reject cash offers, since you just want to "trade"
Wait until someone offers you something far in excess of your listed "cash value"

Not complaining, just making an observation. I will stick to the "I want $X" posts from now on.

Or, people are just PMing cash values and seller is picking the highest one. A sealed bid auction, basically.

If one would rather trade for xxx item, so be it.

What you say may certainly be the case for some.

Others are just genuinely wanting to trade.

Its nearly impossible to have a litmus test on it so its up to the buyer or tradee to use good judgment.
