Two zip ties and a Tasco. First between top of frame and cylinder, 2nd in front of frame around ejector pin shroud. You can use electric tape. Three wrap recommendation if only shooting specials, four wraps for magnum cartridge.

I was going to suggest duct tape but your idea is better.

Back when I was in the 44 business like that I used a Weigand mount it worked well

You might try to contact Mag Na Port he may still make the tsob scope mounts for them, they have 3 scope rings.

IMO, if you are going to take shots less than 50 yds, why use a scope? Back when I was still hunting with a revolver (Tracker .41) I just used iron sights.
