Jesse Stone addiction....It's all GED's fault

(I left the forums for quite a while, since I found myself being pulled into too many political debates, but I calmed down and came back to you fun group of people)

It's been probably a year since we were discussing favorite movies. GED mentioned the Jesse Stone series of movies. Well, Netflix has the first few on instant play; so I checked them out.

Holy *^%#@ I'm hooked! Ok...these are some of the best movies I've ever watched. I have loved every one of them, and I'm watching them over and over again. I was never a big Tom Selleck fan, but he is at his best here. He's fantastic. The author even said that Tom portrayed Jesse as close to the book as it could be.

Now I need to order the whole set, since Netflix doesn't have them all, and I'm dying to see the rest.

Dag nab it GED...it's all your fault. You got me hooked. (and I thank you)

Awesome set of movies. Highly recommended.

Well duh, raise your hand here if you've never had a man crush on Tom Selleck. There was a ride at the state fair a few years ago called "Magnum PI" and the only reason I rode it is because the backdrop was a gigantic painting of Tom Selleck.

Haven't seen the Jesse Stone movies, though. I'll add them to my instant queue, thanks for the suggestion. Any specific one you recommend over the other?

Yeah, that Smith & Wesson Gunsite Edition .45 is my grail gun. For those inquiring minds, he carries it in a Galco Yaqui Slide holster with the Gunsite raven embossed on the outside of the leather and he also carries a spare mag and a Surefire 6P flashlight in a Galco M.F.P. pouch.

While were at it, he (Selleck) still wears the very same Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master diver's watch with the Pepsi bezel that he wore as a prop in Magnum P.I. back in the 80's.

The watch made it's debut (of sorts) in season 4's episode, Home From The Sea. In the episode, the Rolex originally belonged to Magnum's father. Magnum inherited the watch when his father died in the Korean War in 1951. However, in truth, the Rolex GMT Master did not appear until 1954. Go figure. But Selleck still wears it every day and if you watch everything he is in, except his westerns and Blue Bloods (in it he wears a Rolex TT Datejust) you will see it on his wrist.

I love them. I do think you should watch them in chronological order with Night Passage before Stone Cold and then they are chronological by release date. Though they are not really sequels, things that happen are referred to later.
