This is a new thing for 2023, there hasn't been much guidance even given to us that are current and up to date on tax laws, let alone anyone else. So I am not sure that "old tax guy" really is aware of the change that they haven't even made a decision on how to handle completely. However, if he has some kind of knowledge or information on how this will be handled, I would love to know where to find it.'
I'm no tax professional or CPA, but what your tax gal said is my understanding too. This is new ground and a gift from Sleepy Joe. He ain't so sleepy when there's a pocket he can reach into. :pissed:

Heck if I had known you guys would go this crazy, I would have asked for one with a small dozer blade on the front so I could get rid of that mound of dirt in the back yard. :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Clay, can you print everything off proving that you were only the funds holder? Then a copy of the receipt when we pick up the mower. Mainly to cover yourself when it comes tax time. If this mess comes true, that is.
I wont have taxes as I'm giving it all to rick. He may. I could print it off I think but my printer is on the fritz

I can foresee the title of a thread in April 2024; “Passing the hat so CHenry can pay his tax obligations to the IRS for insisting that we use PayPal”.
I didnt insist anything bro
Checks were an option also but more hassle..
$17,000 a year on gifts used to be the norm with no tax. Not sure where that ended up.

@dlbleak, I'm trying to figure a way to transfer the unused funds to rick with no tax trail. Got any ideas? I had thought I'd paypal it to you to deposit and write him a check but that's not looking like a good option now
