I 2nd Gentry in Mustang. My Carrier system is 12 years old now and they do a great job of maintaining it. Honest and reasonable. I had mice get killed in my blower motor in the attic and threw it off balance and it sounded like a tornado when the motor kicked on. They came and removed the mice and cleaned it up for free! My next unit will be a Carrier with them.
I know them, good people.

Hey everyone, going to be looking at replacing hvac soon. My furnace is 18 years old and starting to need some costly repairs seems to make more sense to just replace. Unfortunately my AC is R-22 so have to replace that same time even though it’s working fine.

Started looking around and ALL of the major hvac companies around here that I can find are nearly exclusively pushing Lennox. These are the highest rated hvac companies as well. Everything I’ve read and researched people hate Lennox and say don’t buy one.

I’ve asked to be quoted for some different brands and the quotes I’m getting are thousands higher than the Lennox quotes for Amana or American Standard.

Anyone have opinions on any of the below? Thanks

1. Lennox HVAC and is it bad?
2. Good HVAC company in general.
3. HVAC company that doesn’t only push Lennox?
American Standard owns Lennox. I’ve had 2 of them and my son in Tucson just replaced his5 ton with a American Standard

Prudhom installed and services our Lennox units. One of the outside units popped a capacitor in the summer. The plumbing for the attic units wasn't installed correctly and the drain pipe would clog occasionally causing water to back up and trip the moisture sensor. That's been fixed with a new run of drain pipe that has more of a downward angle before it drops out of the ceiling.

We did have a furnace catch on fire 3 days before Xmas a couple of years ago. I was able to put it out before it spread out of the furnace. Lennox sent a new furnace for free and took the other one back to see if they could figure out what caused the fire.

The service guys from Prudhom are nice, but I don't think I'd buy Lennox and I'd think long and hard about giving money to Prudhom.

Al's heat and air in Tuttle is who I would call. with HVAC systems who installed it is more important than brand , Trane / American standard are the best in my opinion , but if you get a good warranty it doesn't make that much difference
Everything I have read on the internet from different experts who have written articles say this exact same. Who installs it makes all the difference.

I have a four ton Bosch heat pump and so far it has been great. Has a 10 year parts warranty. Only problem I have with mine is the ductwork sucks which I am having redone this winter. And my attic has one dang vent. My house was built in 2007 and they cut every corner they could and broke every state code they could and got away with it. I didn’t have the house built. So I am having more roof vents installed as well. I’m slowly correcting the mistakes the builder made.

Did he install yours or just service it?

We replaced our jackwagon special with a complete new Trane unit just about the time people starting creeping out of their bunker from Covid.
Other than a short someplace pre-existing it’s ran like a champ and our electric consumption from running has dropped. Actually it doesn’t run anywhere near as long as the last cooling off the house Granted the fact that the house is very well insulated doesn’t hurt either. But the old one struggled most of the time. 10 year no fuss warranty too. They fixed the short that wasn’t their work.
Who did you go with for installation?
