any dealer can sell other brands lower line equipment , to sell the top line stuff you have to be an authorized dealer to protect their dealers territory. that's one reason the bigger companies hate Lenox they will sell to anyone that's why so many new starting out companies sell it. Al's has always been a Trane comfort specialist dealer ....the elite of Trane dealers
Ok, you don't have to prove your right and I'm wrong anymore. I fessed that I probably wasn't remembering right.

My understanding from my former HVAC/Electrician, across the street neighbor (RIP), is that there are 4 total manufacturers of parts. All the companies just mix and match. Sometimes they can pick from 4 manufacturers of Part A, 3 of parts B and C, and 1 of part D. According to him, the only thing they make themselves are the sheet metal cases they use. FWIW.

I worked for a HVAC contractor and he sold several brands. The only thing different was the sticker we put on them when installed. Depending on what the customer bought.
Carrier Corporation owns Carrier, Bryant, Arcoaire, Comfortmaker, Day & Night, Heil, Payne, and Tempstar.

I've had a Lennox for 7 years with zero issues. Electric bill went down quite a bit after the install. I think, as with many things, it just comes down to 'luck of the draw'. Also, more people tend to write negative reviews compared to the ones that would have a positive review.

Best of luck in your decision!
