Askins may be one of the finest persons on the planet but she has chosen to align herself with the party of dependency, welfare, socialism and big government.

She could be Jesus Christ reincarnated and I wouldn't vote for her simply because she's a Democrat.

How is that any different than the other? (Well, the other leans more toward fascism than socialism.)

I strongly suggest that you learn what fascism is before you go tossing that term around.

Hell I'll make it easy on you:

Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Definition of FASCISM

1. often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

Sounds a whole lot more like what the Obamanation is doing than what any Republican has ever done, wants and stands for doesn't it?

I strongly suggest you learn what fascism is as a practical political, economic, and social theory.

Fascists, like Republicans, reject individualism and fight for collective morals.

Fascists, like Republicans, believe their economic theories are superior to both lassiez faire capitalism and socialism.

Fascists, like Republicans, support totalitarian control of citizens' lives.

Fascists, like Republicans, believe in the superiority of nativism.

Fascists, like Republicans, view conservatives as helpful allies only for fighting socialism, but disagrees with most principles of conservatism.

Fascists, like Republicans, believe that waging non-defensive wars is a valid means to strengthen a nation.

They hardly reject individualism and it is only the religious fanatic minority who've coopted the republican party that believe in collective morals.

.

ROFLMAO - you mean like the DEMS don't? Please.

Fascists, like Republicans, support totalitarian control of citizens' lives.
Uhhh...

It's the Dems that have turned the US into a welfare state, made half our citizens dependent on the government in one way or another and by default control their daily lives. Totalitarian? A rose by any other name is still a rose and the Dems not the Republicans where it like a badge of honor.

It's the dems that have taken control of major manufacturing corporations and have so regulated the financial industry as to control it for all practical purposes. Government control of corporations and financial institutions is a hallmark of traditional fascism and the DEMS are responsible for that not the republicans.

Fascists, like Republicans, believe in the superiority of nativism.
Huh?

Fascists, like Republicans, view conservatives as helpful allies only for fighting socialism, but disagrees with most principles of conservatism.
That's so far out there it doesn't even deserve a response and I won't dignify it by even trying.

Fascists, like Republicans, believe that waging non-defensive wars is a valid means to strengthen a nation.
I'll give you that one.

When people start tossing around the term fascist I can't help but be reminded of my time in college as an adult student listening to half literate kids using the phrase in every other sentence when they couldn't win an argument based on reality and thus resorted to demonization of their opponent (a typical Dem tactic) by tossing around words that make the average person think of Mussolini and reminds them of the NAZIS. Nice try. FAIL!

However, I guess from your liberal POV most of what you wrote is true...

From my libertarian/conservative POV it's mostly hogwash.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

The religious fanatics seem to be who is running the show.

ROFLMAO - you mean like the DEMS don't? Please.

The Democratic party believes in the economic principles of socialism.

Uhhh...

You're right. The Democrats do support totalitarian control of our economy. However, Republicans push for totalitarian control of our personal lives.

Republicans say that two men or two women cannot have the same legal rights as a man and a woman.

Republicans say that a woman cannot choose to have an abortion prior to a certain point in the development phase. Additionally, they push for legislation meant to humiliate those who seek an abortion as an option.

Republicans say that two consenting adults may not have sex if there is an exchange of money, goods, or services for that sex.

Republicans say that an adult may not indulge in his own vices within the confines of his own home.

Republicans believe that natural citizens are somehow superior to those who were not born here.

That's so far out there it doesn't even deserve a response and I won't dignify it by even trying.

A true libertarian or conservative would see this. For example, how often do you see Republicans run on the rhetoric of "fiscal conservatism" to get the conservative and then support loose spending? Reagan did that one pretty well.

I'll give you that one.

Thanks.

How is this different from when Republicans and conservatives toss around the term "socialist"?

However, I guess from your liberal POV most of what you wrote is true...

Is anyone who disagrees with your point of view a "liberal"?

That's one thing I cannot stand about Republicans and so-called conservatives.

  • If I say something about fixing immigration issues that doesn't involve a shoot-first-ask-later type of policy, I get called a liberal.
  • If I support marijuana legalization, I get called a liberal.
  • If I support equal rights regardless of sexual orientation, I get called a liberal.
  • If I support equal application of the law regardless of religion, I get called a liberal if that religion was not Christianity.

What's funny is, in the same day I'll get called a "conservative" or "right-wing extremist".

All it takes is a little bit of observation to notice that the only difference between the two parties is HOW they want to control the people. It's like playing a game of tug-o-war between Socialism and Fascism, and as long as no one falls in the mud America should survive.

So pick whatever term you want to label me with. I really don't care.
