Okay maybe not him (yet) But at the way business was conducted at the used car lot. I had previously bought a 2006 Jeep commander from them. It was a certified pre owned. After the deal was agreed to and we were finishing up getting everything signed I asked them if I was going to find out later this vehicle had been in an accident. (I know I should of asked for the carfax) The salesman tells me they are not even allowed to buy vehichles from the auction that have had any accidents and that they wouldn't legally even sell me a car without telling me if it had an accident. Well I go to trade it in tonight on a 2010 VW Jetta TDI and the sales guy there asked me if I knew that the car had been in a wreck. I was shocked to find out it had been in a wreck the previous December. the damage was marked as function but not Minor. Meaning it could still drive home but had to be repaired. I guess I am going to be calling Chris Nickles himself, or trying to anyways to see what if anything they are willing to do to make this right. What do you guys and gals think? My own stupid fault for giving them the benefit of the doubt? or do you think I should try to get some kind of reimbursement or buyback?

Buyer beware. You can gripe but they have your money already, so I doubt anything comes of it.

I would put my energies into negotiating a good trade in value with the seller of the VW.

This is all true, But I think if I let them know How much time and effort I am willing to put into this if they aren't willing to make this right, might have some sway in their willingness to help right?

Probably not, as your time and effort does not ultimately end with them having an obligation to you. You will likely get told to go pound sand.

That is my experience with car dealers. I doubt yours will end differently.

your probably right. I shouldn't assume anything at this point for all I know it could have been a mistake and they may be very willing to help. then again they may tell me to go kick rocks. In that scenario though I think after A while they will get tired of seeing A very well written version of this story on craigslist Everyday for 2-3 Months. and On 2 works for you LOL. And reports to the BBB and anything else I think of between now and then. I may even decide to rent a billboard. JK

Car dealers are the spawn of the devil. Any time you trust them, you are entering a fantasy world. Hopefully you are young enough to profit from this lesson. CB

I have sold used cars for over a year for Carmax. We had extensive training in the law of the land here in Okie and it's shocking.

A dealer is NOT required to inform you of any wrecks, frame damage, etc unless the car is a salvaged and has an orange title. All else is buyers beware and there is nothing Cris Nickle is requires to do. You can push the matter, but nothing will come of it other than a headache unless the dealer is generous (doubt it in these times).

This is 100% correct. I sell Harley Davidson's and on our pre-owned we are not required to disclose anything either
