This is correct. Raw data is meaningless because of the ebb and flow of birth/death rates. A more accurate analytic would be to compare the percentage of active workforce participants by age range. Just a SWAG, but I'd bet the participation percentage in the 20-30 age range is down. I'd also bet the participation percentage for 65-80 is up?That's in part due to the large number of "Baby Boomers" born after WWII that started to retire in the 2000's.
