OKC to Galvaston TX, things to see along the way?

Heading to Galvaston in a few days to jump aboard that big white ship again. We will be heading down there the day before and wanting to stop and see a few things along the way.

Spec's liquor store in Dallas, Aranda's Mexican bakery in Houston, Guido's fish restaurant at Galveston seawall, 36 hour tuna fishing trip out of Galveston.

When you get to Galveston, the Battleship Texas is worth a few more minutes in the car.

If you like shopping San Marcos has it all. Not much for guns but has a Bose outlet center.

There honestly isn't much of anything between Dallas and Houston. I'd make a speed run to Galveston, then spend the time I had to kill taking the ferry over to Bolivar Peninsula.
