nowadays with ebay, you think you have a gold mine and you will be surprised they aren't worth squat.

Trying to remember how many Mickey Mantle rookie cards I used with a clothes pin on my bicycle spokes back in the day.

i have an 1955 early wynn and al kaline baseball cards worth like 175 bucks according to beckett each. You can buy al kaline on ebay for 12 bucks or something like that. i got a box full of great cards i sat down in front of the computer and looked up what i thought was the most worth. i wish i had back, what I put into them moneywise. baseball cards are like race cars they are NOT an appreciating asset.

Very few cards from the late 80s/early 90s are worth anything, they were waaaaaaay overproduced, 89 upper deck Griffey Jr rc, 93 sp Derek Jeter rc or a-rod rc are about the only things worth more than $20.... And that was about a year ago..... Unless you have a 90 topps Frank Thomas no name on front error card, and then everybody wants them graded for condition before they buy them.... I've got upwards of 10,000 myself and they just sit in the boxes waiting.
