If .45 ACP headspaced off of the mouth, we'd have to trim the cases...this is a myth.

But yeah, your crimp does look pretty excessive.

If not off the mouth, then what? Doesn't have a shoulder and it's a rimless case. The only case I had to trim every time was the .375 H&H because it headspaced off the belt. When fired it would stretch the shoulders and neck out to meet the front of the chamber. I used to try to trim my -06 but the trimmer rarely took off material and then only a tiny, tiny fragment. Apparently it wasn't being stretched.

It can fire off the extractor.

If your 1911 is set up well it will pretty much headpace off the mouth.
