It isn't legal if the law actually "requires the information to be relevant to an authorized investigation" as the congressman claims it says. If that is the case the warrants are illegal and therefore legal action can be taken.
You didn't read the link I posted did you?

The bill passed in 2008 legalized it and granted immunity for past violations going all the way back to 2003.

Google it up for yourself.

How do you know whether the information is relevant to the investigation? You get the information. The information comes first and the relevance comes later.

Every president gets to define relevace. Thank you Patriot Act!
I seriously have no idea why people didn't understand this years ago.
