Reaction to Shingles Vaccine

Deciding on shingles vaccine is a crap shoot for sure. If the odds were like 1-5%, I might be hesitant. But 33% for anyone who had chickenpox?? It was a no-brainer for me with those odds.
If you had chickenpox, the virus is inside you waiting to make your life a living hell. It might not come out again, but if it does…Ask anyone who has seen it or had it. Quite nasty.

I need to get my Shingles Vax. Can these be had at a walk in clinic?

I had the Shingles bad in my crotch area and still have a loss of nerve endings and a burning of my skin in places because of it. This was before COVID.

I have had Shingrix since then with no effects.

I have to have regular Meningitis shots now and they feel like I've been slugged in the arm with a ball peen hammer for three days.

Had bad case of chicken pox in my mid 30's. Really sick for 10 days.
Took the first shingles injection series in 2014. Told that is wasn't good enough. Took the second Shingrix series in 2018. All of the injections were painful and I had reactions afterward. They don't just give you the injection. The nurse has to insert it sideways into the muscle of my arm. Ouch!

Got mine at CVS. Back when the vaccine cost $400 per shot. I finished it after 2 months and it got free recently. No reaction at all, I had chicken pox when I was 6 and did not want to have shingles as an adult. My grandmother had it and it was not fun.

Thanks for the intel. I made an appointment at the Bristow Walmart and got the shot yesterday. Arm is quite sore and don't feel 100% but from all I read that's normal. Appreciate the help.

Second shot was worse than the first one but everyone I know that has had shingles wishes they had been vaccinated.
