I'm not sure I'd want my 4 year old in my arms while getting out to check damage. Just an opinion, not trying to start anything.

Man people are crazy I glad things turned out okay for you guys It sounds like you handled the situation okay though. I don't have kids so I can not say much. But I don't think I would have felt safe leaving my kid in the car by himself. Probably would have just called the police and let them handle everything since you were in the hood and all.
I dont think the guy (old man, hearing aids) heard me or knew he hit me. Problem with calling the cops is, once he drives off, they wont do anything, or even respond. So I was trying to get his attention before the light changed, and he drove off. It was a bad situation all around.
thats funny, because I refer to my 30-06 as the "reach out an touch someone". A reference to an AT&T long distance commercial from way back.
