To me it's shocking to read this, but today this is not an uncommon occurrence. Today the education system from pre-k up to college level has been totally and completely taken over by socialists/Marxists/communists. I am in my mid-50's and a few years ago took some college classes at OSU-OKC. I was shocked at how liberal the teachers were and they weren't the least bit reserved in their views. It's worse across the country.

We read and see in the news nowadays very frequent occurrences of teachers and administrators suspending a 2nd grader over drawing a picture of a gun on a piece of paper in crayon. The child is suspended from school. HOW OUTRAGEOUS! A child is not even aware of what is going on on this topic yet their young formative open minds are being indoctrinated in this agenda. Kid wears a gun, flag, freedom based shirt and gets suspended.

If you think this is an isolated rare occurrence, you're wrong. Sorry but you're wrong. Unfortuantely.

I think I'd better stop now before my blood pressure gets too high. Thank you all for letting me post my thoughts here.

Our current crop of educators are intent on teaching and instilling in young children that anything related to guns, hunting, playing army, playing at shooting someone is wrong and will be punished severely.

Anyone here seen "Clockwork Orange"?

I wouldn't say that is true about all the educators out there. Let's not forget there is another big element in this education process, Parents.

There are still schools that are run by like-minded conservative folks BUT even those administrators are scared of their own shadows when it comes lawsuits and intimidation from parents who are coddling their kids.

Two years ago, my oldest boy called another kid "A Red Power Ranger"....I guess in the kid's world, being a red power range is some sort of insult because the kid went home crying to his mother. The mother called the school and threatened to use her "family's political connections" if something wasn't done about the "emotional bullying" taking place in the school. End result: One day suspension.

Parents are as much the problem as our educators.

Unfortunately those are nearing extinction, many (most?) having chosen to abdicate their responsibilities to someone else - often anyone else - as long as the kids aren't interfering with what they themselves want to do at the moment. Natural offshoot of the entire "me first and to heck with anyone else" attitude that's become so prevalent in our society. We have lots of "progenitors" but the number of "parents" continues to fall.

Screwing up a kid's young life over a PC issue. And it had to go up the ladder from the teacher to the principle. What nonsense. Why not just talk it over with the kid and his parents?

I don't fault the teachers, prinicipal, supers, school boards....it is the judicial system. It starts from the top down. All of the rules that effect students is directly related to someone suing the school and a court system ruling in favor of the parent. Take for example corporal punishment. I know when I was in school if you screwed up you had choices...Swats or detention. Since I played after school sports that was an easy decision for me...swats. My school district was sued because a principal swatted a student to hard. No they are not allowed.

Same is to be said with weapons. A student brings a weapon to school, harms another student, parents sue the school. School make policy saying weapons are illegal. Now the districts have taken it a little to far. Teachers report everything for the fear of their jobs, civil lawsuits, or even criminal charges if they don't report. Principals have the same pressures and so on.

Long story short version...society is screwed up. People are afraid for their kids to face some challenges in their life and that is how we become sissies.
