The only people who get irritated at being micro-managed are the people who do their job. The slackers could careless either way.
GPS electronics aren't the systems you should be worrying about.
In 10 years autonomous driving systems will have you out of a job and replaced by someone that just loads and unloads. Or maybe not, there will be a robot to do that job too by then.

If he's been there 19 years, chances are he hears certain things because he's an old, trusted hand. Like management taking inventory of who has GPS in their trucks, and who is getting one soon.
19 years is a long time in ANY job. If you want to stick around, then pay attention to that guy rather than making him an enemy without concrete proof.

Or you know, care about efficiency because micro-management has been PROVEN to be ineffective, and detrimental to the mental stability and overall happiness of employees....or you know we could just go on micro-managing and popping on Facebook every 10 minutes, your call.
Some of the more SOLVENT and humane corporations in industry that I see are the ones that take no part in micro-management, Google for instance. How about a gaming company called VALVE, your desk is on wheels and YOU choose what projects to work on and when, just so happens to be one of the most beloved PC game publishers of all time.....Micro-Management - Creating heavy turnover statistics since 1980.
To me if a boss has time to come ***** about some little thing like copier ink or paper being low in something, he has time to do it himself, and has a POWER and EGO trip, how about telling you how and when to relieve yourself like you are 10? That is just laughable, I have seriously had this happen to me, and believe it or not this is being employed as a 1099 INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR! I just laughed in his face, went to pee and told him to sit on it.
Wow, I don't know what to think. Where I work, snitches get cut up and thrown in to trash cans to bleed out. Either that, or held down and beat to death with a lock on a belt or lock in a sock. I'm guessing this guys isn't going to et that kind of treatment?. Maybe a different term is more appropriate? Especially coming from the "Big House". Lol
