The previous vehicle served me well. I took good care of it, and it never let me down. However, it was the first non-truck I’d owned in 25 years. Over the past couple of days, I explored my options, crunched some numbers, and decided to make a move last night—I picked up a new Tundra.

I'm really happy with the deal I worked out. I negotiated $11k off the price, got them to match an unexpectedly high purchase offer from CarMax for my old vehicle (which had a solid amount of equity), and ended up with a deal I’m quite pleased with. This Tundra is definitely a keeper for years to come.

I have a 2008 Tundra that has been a great truck. Water pump and a starter plus maintenance is all I have done . It is over 300,000 miles and the motor and transmission are strong.
That new Tundra should serve you well.
That's good to hear. A friend of mine has a 2019 or 2020 that has been put through a lot and is still going strong. They seem like well made trucks.

I knew whatever I ended up getting would need to fit in the garage in the case of a hail storm, etc. Knowing the depth in my garage, when looking at the dimensions of this pickup, it showed to be 233.6 inches in total length. My garage measures 233-7/8". That was far too close for comfort, so before I agreed to purchase I told them I had to confirm that it would fit in my garage. They let me take it home. Here's the results. The back is no more than 1/4 from the wall, and I have barely any room up front, but it does fit!

At least I know I'll be able to put it inside before a hail storm or some severe weather event.

That's a tight fit.
I suppose a future brush guard is out of the question?
