Exactly. Theory is a much stronger word in science than it is in ordinary usage. We found out in the twentieth century that Isaac Newton's THEORY of gravity isn't the last word in physics. You don't have to believe in the THEORY of gravity, but its a good idea to act as if it were true.Theory, i do not think that word means what you think it means.
Evolution is a theory, that's it, a "theory", never proven, but it's been taught as fact for many years. If evolution can't be proven, then what's the alternative?
Yup, they also thought that what the church said about the sun revolving around the earth was fact, as well. Turns out, the church was wrong.
