Using "Time" magazine as reference for science is pretty ignorant of what the community entails or even represents. Might as well go ask Feinstein about gun ownership.
I'll also take the intelligence and wisdom of the scientific community as whole over time in lieu of the "wisdom" and "intelligence" of man made religions.
Just a few misconceptions I have seen in this thread.
Evolution is not the same as adaptation. Adaptation happens all the time. Adaptation is what allows man to selectively breed animals such has horses, cows, chickens, and man's best friend, dogs. But in the end they all remain horses, cows, chickens and dogs they don't become a new species. Evolution is one species changing into another species.
Second, evolution and religion aren't mutually exclusive. The Bible talks about days before there was an Earth day. It talks about how God created man from dirt, but doesn't explain all the details that went into that making. And it explains how women are a pain in the side... Anyway, it could have been through evolution. And I know that some people believe that even the mention of intelligent design is crazy talk, but if that is the case then those people must think that mankind will never be able create and/or manipulate life. So for those who say ID is crazy, I give you GMOs.
Of course we all know what the real answer is...

The irony in your misconception statement is that evolution is a mechanism, not specifially just a change from one species into another. While in may include this.... it definitely is NOT limited to species change. The definition goes all the way down to changes in DNA.
Adaptation is the description of traits given by evolutionary processes that allow an organism to prosper within it's own ecosystem.
But there is no evolution without species change, just adaptation which is only a small part of evolution. No evolution has ever been witnessed (the misconception I was going after) in our lifetime or history. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but people are basing their belief in evolution stating that it has been witnessed when it hasn't.
An argument could be made that we are seeing evolution in progress with each generation. Humans are considerably larger today than they we're 100 years ago.
I hope you meant that as a joke. The Acambaro figures were proven to be a fake. Nobody is brainwashing anyone by saying dinosaurs and humans never came in contact with each other.
I mean there are some issues where you can go either way (science vs religion) but dinosaurs and humans living together is not one of them.

No it has not been proven or disproven. There are hundreds of so called scientific establishments facts that are a joke, that a particle exists for everything, electrons and protons, that the moon rotates about its own axis, that occasional smoking is harmful, that background radiation is safe, that airport scanners are safe, that vaccines are not harmful, the history of human civilizations, that Christopher Colombus discovered anything, that a "gravity particle"exists, that thousands of FDA approved drugs are more helpful than harmful, that grains are at the base of the food pyramid and is considered healthy, etc. I would much rather we encourage active independent thought than the established teach for the test and repeat what the book says mind zombies.
