You can have the belief the earth is billions of years old and believe the Bible. Why, you can even believe in evolution and creation! When you actually study it, (instead of letting blind prejudices by both Creationists and Evolutionists hamper you) there is no conflict between science and the Bible...all one needs is a proper understanding how to merge sound science and the Bible. For instance, the Bible says God made animals ‘after their kind’, in other words certain ‘classes’. That is why you see no duck-dog hybrids. After Creation, we see the selection process allowing many evolutionary changes, whether by natural selection or selective breeding by man. The Bible talks of such instances.

Second this, going to school currently for science education degree. We were taught that science and religion do not mix. Science cannot disprove religion or prove it because most religions are based on faith. Also for the it's a theory not a law yet group. Theories do not become laws. Scientific laws tell us what is happening/what we observe, a scientific theory explains why it is happening. This is why laws rarely change but theories may change fairly often. Both are based on much research by many different scientists

I find it quite amusing that people put so much faith in the wisdom of mankind. To those who have arrogantly stated that evolution is a fact without any reference to said facts, please provide them.
