This was the second oil change for my truck. It's been using 10w-30 synthetic blend as it was a new truck/motor.

Never use full synthetic in a new or rebuilt motor, as it's too slick and may - or may not - let the rings seat in.

However, my next oil change will be full synthetic now that the motor has a good amount of miles on it. I also use Motorcraft filters.

I used an oil change place 1 time. They cross thread the drain plug. I ended up replacing the pan myself.

Granddaughter's husband didn't know not to go that place. He leaves, gets 4 - 5 miles and car dies. Had it towed to dealer. Found the motor with 10 qts in it.
Jackwad changed filter and filled it up.
Talked with Service Mgr and gave him receipt from oil change, dealer sent them the bill. Car was less than a year old.
Oil change is out of business.
